MPH Plumbing & Heating South Coast have chosen to support local charity Amelia’s Rainbow.

The charity supports children in Dorset who have serious, chronic, life limiting and terminal conditions, to enable them to have fun and create cherished memories with their families.  The charity provides funds for toys, games, electronic equipment, days out, special trips and other ways in which their lives can be enhanced and enjoyed through difficult times.  The charity works tirelessly on their fundraising, which has meant that over 60 gifts have been given during 2019, most of which are between £500 and £1000, and the number of applications increases every year.

MPH branches and in particular, the Moordown Showroom, have been proud to support the charity and have managed to raise £568 from a raffle and £550 from a golf day with the help of their generous customers in the last year.

This Christmas, the Moordown Showroom helped collect toys for the charity’s Toy Appeal. Hundreds of gifts were delivered by volunteers to the homes of 178 children all over Dorset, and to children who were spending Christmas Day in Poole hospital and Dorchester Hospital on Boxing Day.

“It’s been an exciting year supporting Amelia’s Rainbow, which we will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. We are very grateful to our loyal customers who join in and continue to help us with our fundraising events, which culminated in the ‘Toy Appeal’ during December.” said Chris Edwards, Operations Director. He continued “We were astounded by the generosity of our customers and members of the public, who totally got on board with the Toy Appeal, the image above of filling the bath speaks for itself”.

Regional Director Steve Massey commented, “The staff have been excited to work with Amelia’s Rainbow, as it is a local charity that is close to our hearts. We will continue to offer our support, as we know the charities income is from fundraising, sponsorship and donations alone”.

A huge thank you is extended to MPH’s customers for their continued business and kindness in supporting Amelia’s Rainbow.

Having received a lovely ‘thank you’ letter from the Treasurer of Amelia’s Rainbow, it is good to know that a small business is able to help make a difference.
