Sales Counter and Warehouse Assistant – Torquay branch

Salary £28,571.40, plus overtime, bonus and benefits

Hours:
- Basic 45 hours worked Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5.00pm
- Saturdays on a rota basis 8.00am to 12.00noon with paid overtime
- Stocktake weekend once a year
Responsibilities:
- To ensure that the branch delivers excellent customer service and maximising plumbing and heating branch performance by:
- carrying out general warehouse duties as required
- good stock management
- serving customers efficiently and politely
- increasing turnover and margin through delivering excellent customer service and making proactive customer contact
- Order picking for deliveries
- Loading and unloading vehicles and moving stock
- Monitoring stock for ordering within the company’s timescales and requirements
- Merchandising stock to increase customer awareness and potential impulse purchases
- Ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by delivering and, where possible, exceeding customers’ expectations
- Dealing promptly and efficiently with customer requirement and queries
- Building business relationships with key customers
- Advising customers trade and retail with project solutions
- Developing own key customer service skills to maximise performance
- Providing specialist plumbing and heating advice
- Maximising sales / margin
- Taking and processing customers’ telephoned orders
- Selling to customers over the sales counter
- Dealing with directs and delivered sales
- Proactively recommending special offers and products
Requirements:
- Good customer service skills
- Knowledge of Plumbing, Heating & Bathroom products
- Sales skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
